
Drew Prohaska, Scott Jensen and Rahn Franklin have re-signed with the Sioux City Bandits.The Sioux City Bandits are pleased to announce that three veteran players will be making a return to play for the Bandits in the newly formed Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) and release their 2013 season schedule.
Scott Jensen (QB-6'0-185 lbs) returns after receiving MVP of the American Professional Football League (APFL) for the 2nd year in a row. In 2012, Jensen completed 96 of 150 passes for a total of 1528 yards, with 41 touchdowns and four interceptions. Jensen's passing average was 127.3 per game. In Jensen's career from 2009 to 2012, Jensen rushed for 1044 yards in 219 attempts. Jensen also has a career high of 445 pass completions in 747 attempts, for a total of 5873 yards.
Drew Prohaska (RB-5'8-190 lbs) returns for another season with the Bandits after rushing for a total of 239 yards in 50 attempts and scoring eight touchdowns in the 2012 season. As a career high, Prohaska rushed for a grand total of 799 yards in 160 attempts from 2011 to 2012. Prohaska also has a career high total of 20 rushing touchdowns, finishing just behind QB Jensen, who has 23.
Rahn Franklin (DB-6'0-200 lbs) comes back for his 3rd year with the Bandits. Last season, Franklin had a total of 27 tackles and had 10 interceptions for 247 yards. From 2011 to 2012, Franklin had a career high of 19 interceptions for a total of 369 yards.
The CPIFL consists of 10 teams: the Bloomington Edge, the Kansas City Renegades, the Kansas Koyotes, the Lincoln Haymakers, the Mid-Missouri Outlaws, the Oklahoma Defenders, the Salina Bombers, the Sioux City Bandits, the Wichita Wild, and Omaha (who have not confirmed a name yet).
For the 2013 inaugural season, the CPIFL will field ten teams that will participate in 60 regular season contests. Each team will play 12 games over a 14 week season. The CPIFL playoffs will then consist of the teams with the top four records, with the inaugural championship game taking place sometime on the weekend of June 21-23.
The season kicks off on Saturday, March 9 when Wichita travels to Tulsa to take on the Oklahoma Defenders in the first game in league history. The Bandits kick off their season on March 15, at Bloomington and return for a home-opener on March 22 against the Kansas City Renegades.
