Norfolk conference focuses on female farmers

More than 350 women are taking part in a one-day conference in Norfolk Friday that is centered on the saluting and empowering the hard-working women of Agriculture. Organizers of this year's AG-ceptional Women's Conference say the attendance is the most they've had in the four years of the event.

Throughout the day, the ladies will choose from more than 25 breakout session that are being held on topics ranging from AG-related skills and information  to health, family, finances and more.

The keynote speaker Friday morning was national author, speaker and success coach Julie Clark.

The 2012 AG-Ceptional Woman award was presented to Nancy Kirkholm of rural South Sioux City.  Kirkholm has been operating the family farm for the past three years along with her children following the death of her husband.

The conference was held at the Lifelong Learning Center on the Norfolk Campus of Northeast Community College.
