SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
When it comes to jobs, the numbers are good for Siouxland states.
Iowa's October unemployment rate dipped slightly to 5.1% last month.
It was 5.2% the month before in September.
Last year at this time, 5.8% of Iowans were unemployed
The national mark is 7.9% which puts Iowa almost three percent lower.
Nebraska's jobless rate remains less than half the national rate.
The October figure was 3.8% which is down slightly from September's 3.9% and more than a half a percentage point lower than October of last year.
4.4% of Nebraskans were unemployed last year.
The Nebraska Labor commissioner says mild fall weather has boosted construction jobs.
