SIOUX COUNTY, Iowa (KTIV) -
A man wanted in several states tried to turn himself into Sioux County authorities Friday morning, but not before allegedly overdosing on medication.
Sheriff's officials say 38-year-old Shannon Mennon called 911 saying he'd been living in several Northwest Iowa towns under several different names. He also alerted the dispatcher that he was wanted in several states on felony warrants and wanted to turn himself in.
They say he told the dispatcher authorities could find him in a car near Matlock, Iowa.
When officers arrived, they say they were unable to communicate with him. They determined he may have overdosed on medication.
Mennon was transferred to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. After he's released from the hospital, he'll be jailed.
Authorities say he's wanted in Ohio for theft. But there are also warrants out for Mennon in New Mexico and Missouri.
