SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

After more than 100 years of finding men suitable suits, Sadoff's will say "so long" in a few weeks.

Since opening in 1900, the store has changed locations, but not its customer service.

"Bottom line goal, I want to find out what he needs, what his needs are," said Owner Arlen De Zeeuw.

Arlen has worked in retail clothing for 50 years. He bought the store from Lester Sadoff in 2002.

Six days a week Arlen drives about an hour from his home in Hawarden to be there, selling everything from suits to shirts. Now, he and his crew are hanging it up, retiring. And with no interested buyers, the store and its well known name will disappear before the end of January.

Arlen will still have his hands full, though.

"We're going to do all the things around the house that haven't been done for 50 years," said Arlen's wife, Evelyn De Zeeuw, with a laugh.

Some Sadoff's customers said their goodbyes on our facebook page. Daniel Landsness said; "Say it ain't so! Always a great store." Becky Miller said; "Where will I go now?"

Arlen turns 70 in January and says he's not leaving because business is bad, rather he's keeping a personal promise.

"The last three months have been my second best months. Business is fine. I just half way said to my wife I will quit at age 70," he said.

But, there will be a lot he'll miss.

"You're going to miss the people. You're going to miss the lifestyle. You enjoy going to work. It's very nice and we have people, when you get done they say; 'Thank you'," said De Zeeuw.

Sadoff's is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. They're getting ready for a final sale Thursday at their store in the Marketplace Shopping Center off of Hamilton Boulevard.  Arlen says prices are slashed. Doors open at 9 a.m.
