UNDATED (NBC) -

The rush for the numbers is on.

Millions are looking to beat the odds and the deadline before Wednesday night's Powerball drawing.

Lottery officials say a billion tickets or more will be sold before the numbers are pulled Wednesday.

The winner will receive the biggest money in Powerball history, a jackpot of $500-million that's still growing.

You'll have to beat 175,000,000-to-1 odds.

For comparison, you have a better chance at becoming an astronaut, being elected president, winning an Academy Award or being struck by lightning multiple times.

Ticket sales end at 10 o'clock Wednesday night.

The drawing is at 10:59.
