It's the big story in Siouxland and in more than 30 states, Wednesday's record Powerball drawing.

In 24 hours the jackpot grew from $425 million to $550 million dollars.

The odds are you won't win the enormous Powerball jackpot, but lottery officials say there's a 75% chance that the winning numbers will be drawn.

People across Siouxland hope that their numbers will be picked.

At the HyVee on Hamilton in Sioux City, there were several people in line buying tickets.

The lucky ticket holder can choose the cash option to collect their winnings. The means they'd collect about $360 million before taxes.

We asked several Siouxlanders what they would do with the money if they hit the jackpot.

"First of all I would probably keep my job for a little while and then I'll buy some farm land and farm for fun," Grant Seibrecht from Lake View, Iowa said.

"Pay off my bills, help some people out, give some money to charities," Kevin Counter from Sioux City said.
