IA deer hunters are urged not to wait until the last minute to purchase a license

Saturday is the opening of Iowa's shotgun deer season.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is warning deer hunters about potentially long lines to get licenses.

The DNR expects to sell more than 50,000 licenses by Saturday, which is the opening of Iowa's shotgun deer season.

They're being sold at more than 900 locations statewide.
