Court documents showed Walter Pettiford broke into a home at 1306 Main Street.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Walter Pettiford was charged with kidnapping, burglary, and aggravated assault and serious assault in October.
But the charges were dropped after Assistant County attorney Terry Ganzel said the witnesses refused to cooperate.
Without it, the state didn't have enough evidence to prosecute Pettiford.
Court documents showed Pettiford broke into a home at 1306 Main Street to see Kaylen Freemont.
While in the house, he hit one man with a baseball bat and assaulted another.
Police say Pettiford dragged Freemont out of house and forced her to go with him.
