Storm Lake, IA Police have arrested a woman with an unusual discovery in her home

STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) -

Police say they got a call about a possible burglary at 615 Geneseo Street at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

Officers say the screen on a window was cut out, but what they found inside is what led to the charges.

Officers say they found a large amount of animal feces and the skeletal remains of 15 cats.

That led to the arrest of 42-year-old Dawn Williams of Storm Lake.

Authorities say she abandoned the property six months ago and locked the animals inside.

Williams faces 15 counts of Animal Neglect.
