LifeServe supplies 97 hospitals in the tri-state region with blood.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
LifeServe will be holding three blood drives in Siouxland over the next two weeks.
December and January months are normally low on blood supply so to keep an adequate stock on hand, LifeServe is asking for your help now.
LifeServe supplies 97 hospitals in the tri-state region with blood.
Giving blood is a unique gift to give this holiday season.
"The only way that patients receive blood is by other blood donors taking the time to donate. So it is a very special gift that people can give during the season," said Jan Twait, Executive Vice President of LifeServe.
To donate blood, you need to be in generally good health, at least 16 years old, at least 120 pounds, and eat first.
Here is a list of dates and locations if you want to donate.
Tuesday, LifeServe will be in Boyden from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the DEMCO Community Center.
Thursday in Sioux Center from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Centre Mall.
Another event will be held December 13th, from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Orange City Area Health System's Downtown Campus.
