SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Tuesday will be a big day for Sioux City. Local leaders and state legislators will meet at City Hall for the 16th Annual Legislative Day. The event will focus on economic progress, local infrastructure, and public safety.
One of the big items on the agenda is an Iowa tax withholding program. The program is set to end next year in July, though city leaders are hoping to get the program extended. They say its helped to drive business growth in the city. "It's really economic development. How do we promote growth in our community, how do we develop jobs, attract jobs, retain jobs, for our residents? So we want to hear from them, how best we can continue this program" Paul Eckert, City Manager said.
State Senators Bill Anderson, Rick Betrand and State House Representatives Chris Hall and Chuck Soderberg are among those expected to attend.
