Autopsy confirms bodies found are missing cousins

EVANSDALE, Iowa (KTIV) -

Evansdale police say the two bodies found a wooded area in eastern Iowa are those of Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook.

Authorities are still not able to say how the girls died, say they're waiting on the full autopsy results.

Eight-year-old Collins and 10-year-old Cook went missing while riding their bikes in Evansdale in July.

Hunters found their bodies early last week in a wildlife area about 25 miles away from the lake they were last seen by.

This wildlife area is back open Monday.

It was closed while authorities collected evidence.
