Former Sioux City Bandit running back Fred Jackson, now with the Buffalo Bills, has a sprained ligament in his right knee that could force him to miss the final three games of the season.

Jackson doesn't need surgery but will miss between two and four weeks.  Bills head coach Chan Gailey said Jackson's injury was "not good".

Jackson was hurt in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 15-12 loss to St. Louis, when he was tackled following a 2-yard run.

The 31-year old has 437 yards rushing this season with three touchdowns. Jackson has 4,251 rushing yards in his six-year NFL career.

He scored 50 touchdowns for Sioux City in the 2005 season.
