Joseph Gertsema was fined $350 and ordered to pay $170 in court costs.
His driver's license was suspended for 30 days.
Gertsema was arrested October 7th at a Highway Patrol checkpoint near Vermillion.
He pleaded guilty to first-offense drunken driving.
After Tuesday's hearing, Gertsema said he's glad to have this behind him and he's looking forward to spending Christmas with his family.
