SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa (KTIV/KUOO) -
City officials in Spirit Lake, Iowa, hope the second time will be the "charm" when it comes to getting a bond issue passed to build a new city hall.
The Spirit Lake city council voted unanimously earlier this week to set March 5th, 2013 as the date for a special election on a $1.35 million dollar bond issue.
The proposal calls for the existing city hall to be demolished with a new one being built in its place.
The new project has been scaled back and revised somewhat from the first proposal, which failed to get the support of voters.
