Sgt. Ryan Bertrand, Sioux City Police Department says you need to be prepared.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Ironically, Sioux City police are deep into planning a drill that would simulate a shooting like the one in Newtown, Connecticut, an active shooter in a school.
The "active shooter" training police are planning will happen this spring, and involve teacher, and other leaders at Sioux City's public schools.
Sgt. Ryan Bertrand, Sioux City Police Department says, "What we try to do, as a police department in our community is have our citizens, and our schools and our children as best prepared as they can, so if someone were looking for a target that they would look elsewhere."
A few students, mainly high schoolers, may be involved as actors.
No young students will be involved.
