Santa making a stop at the Milwaukee Railroad Shops Historic District in Sioux City.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
There was another Santa sighting in Siouxland Saturday afternoon. But this time, instead of being pulled by reindeers, he came by train.
The visit was part of an effort by the Milwaukee Railroad Shops Historic District to have people visit and learn about the history of railroads in the Midwest.
The executive director of the district says, it's not the typical Santa meet and greet stop, you may see this time of the year.
"It takes us back to Sioux City's heritage, it's a unique way for families to get together and have some fun," Matt Merk, Executive Director of the Milwaukee Railroad Shops Historic District.
As part of the holiday event, kids were able to ride a train, visit the museum, and take pictures with Santa.
The museum is open all year long. The district is working to get on the national registry of historic places.
