Snow, wind, and whiteout conditions could make travel tough in blizzard warning area

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Snow will move in Wednesday evening.

Expect snow starting in Sioux City after 6 p.m., sooner west and south.

The snow ends late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The heaviest snow will occur over southern Siouxland, where 5-9" are likely.

According to the National Weather Service, the snow in combination with the wind, will make whiteout conditions probably and travel could be impossible in the blizzard warning area.

This includes Sioux City.

Sioux City can expect about 4" of snow, with less north and west.

Blizzard Warning Counties:

In Nebraska, Thurston, Dakota, Burt, and Cuming.

In Iowa, Woodbury, Ida, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Sac, Pocahontas, Crawford, and Carroll.
