NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
The Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District Board of Directors will be meeting in Norfolk Thursday evening to further discuss irrigation management for their district following this past year's flood.
A NRD subcommittee meeting on proposed irrigation restrictions drew more than 200 people.
Thursday's agenda shows the NRD will again discuss possibly restricting new irrigated acres, setting irrigation limits and requiring flow meters on irrigated acres.
The NRD is also scheduled to choose a vendor to monitor groundwater levels in the district in the future.
The Board has also already set January 17th as the date a public hearing on the restrictions with the possibility that they'll make a final decision on irrigation management at their next meeting in January 24th.
