Several charges are pending after this collision on Outer Drive North.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Police say alcohol was a factor in a head on collision involving two Sioux City drivers.
Saturday, traffic was backed up around the Outer Drive bridge after police say 45-year old Steven Chamberlain crossed the center line colliding with a pickup truck driven by 49-year old David Dickenson.
Witnesses said Dickenson tried to move out of the way, but there was no place to go, except into another car.
"Wound up being three cars total because the initial impact of the two vehicles caused it to strike the third." said Sgt. Brad Bollinger of the Sioux City Police Department.
David's wife Judy was injured and taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Chamberlain was arrested on multiple charges.
