NEAR LAWTON, Iowa (KTIV) -
A driver has been taken to a local hospital after his semi rolls over on a northwest Iowa road.
It happened around 1:30 Monday afternoon. Woodbury County Sheriff Deputy Dave Drew says the driver of a semi-truck lost control as he was turning onto Deer Run Trail from Old Highway 141.
The truck was carrying cattle feed.
Passer-bys called authorities after witnessing the accident.
When rescue crews arrived, they were able to free the driver by pulling him through the front windshield of the truck.
Drew says the driver may have been going a little too fast to make the turn.
"I think it just might have been coming around that curve to make the hill sometimes, they're gotta slow down to make that hill, and it's pretty weighed down, so I'm sure that made a little difference," said Woodbury County Deputy Dave Drew.
The name of the driver and his condition have not been released.
But Drew says the driver had non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
