An offspring of the famous Decorah eagles is back in northeast Iowa

DECORAH, Iowa (AP) -

The eagle, known as D1, was located in downtown Decorah over the weekend.

The Raptor Resource Project Director says a satellite transmitter mounted on the bird's back tracked the bird back to its home.

The eagle returned after flying thousands of miles since leaving its nest 18 months ago.
