Despite a sluggish national economy, manufacturing exports out of South Dakota have been solid in 2012.
Rock Nelson, director of the state's International Trade Center says the state exported nearly 1.5 billion dollars of manufactured products in 2011. That doesn't include grains and livestock.
He expects 2012 exports to exceed that figure.
South Dakota-based companies are seeing increased foreign business with the potential for a domestic rebound next year.
