KTIV's Christy Batien leaves News 4 Today anchor desk to go behind-the-scenes
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
There's a big change coming to News 4 Today. One you're going to notice in the New Year. After 10 years on News 4 Today, Christy Batien is leaving to take a job behind the scenes at KTIV. Christy has accepted the position of Internet Director at KTIV; working on reporting news from many angles of KTIV's social networking and online platforms.
Christy says her decision to do this is pretty clear. She wants to spend more time with her new daughter, Ana. Christy says, "We come to work so early to work on this show it's the middle of the night. And I miss so much time with her in the mornings and at bedtime because of this schedule. As Internet Director my hours will change and I'll get to spend that extra time with her. And in addition to that, I'm ready for a new challenge in my career, and I believe this is exactly where I need to go next."
Christy successor on News 4 Today will be a face familiar to Siouxland. Sarah Te Slaa will begin her duties as co-anchor with Al Joens and Riley O'Connor on Wednesday, January 2nd.
