The AGP plant in Sergeant Bluff is one of 12 plants in Iowa that produce biodiesel fuel
JOHNSTON, Iowa (KTIV) -
Iowa's biodiesel plants set a new record in 2012 by producing 184 million gallons of the renewable fuel. That was up from the previous record of 169 million gallons in 2011.
But the executive director of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association says production was held back by the lack of the biodiesel tax incentive last year. Congress has reinstated the credit for 2013, so Monte Shaw says he's expecting production to grow even further this year.
