SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
No. 3 Morningside erased a seven point second half deficit to drop cross town rival Briar Cliff 77-71 Saturday at the CNOS Classic.
The 6th ranked Charger women trailed 34-27 at the half, but used a 17-4 run at the start of the second to take a 44-38 lead with 13:42 to play in the game.
After exchanging buckets and in a seven point hole, Bobbi McManaman hit three, 3-pointers in less than 90 seconds to help give the Mustangs a 62-50 lead with less than six minutes.
The Chargers would take a 66-65 lead on a free throw from Kelsey Evans, but Hanna Blum put Morningside back on top for good.
Blum led M'side with 14 points. Jessica Tietz added 13 and Chelsie Trask 10 in the win.
BCU was led by Summer Gordon who led all scorers with 15.

Trailing 34-31 at halftime, the Briar Cliff Charger men tied the game up and then took a 37-34 lead on a Jake Shipley three and never looked back, dropping Morningside 71-66 at the CNOS Classic.
Shipley finished with 15 points. Taylor Murren, who made 19, 3-pointers over the two days at the Holiday Classic, struggled from the field, shooting just 3-for-11 from the floor, with two 3-pointers. He led BCU with 18.
Danny Rudeen led the Mustangs with 19.
