SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Christmas may have come, and gone, but the generosity of one local group is helping others fund their missions.
Monday night, the Missouri River Historical Development board awarded two Siouxland non-profits a total of $100,000.
$50,000 went to the Pier Center for Autism, in Sioux City. The organization that provides compassionate services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. They hope to open their Sioux City center, soon.
MRHD also gave $50,000 to the Food Bank of Siouxland. The Food Bank serves eleven counties in the Siouxland area. They provide food to nearly 125 member agencies... like food pantries, emergency relief agencies, shelters, and day care centers.
