Charges follow chase near Norfolk, Nebraska

NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -

A South Dakota man faces charges after a high speed chase near Norfolk, Nebraska.

State troopers say they stopped 27-year-old Caleb Minerd, of Wakonda, for speeding on Highway 81.

Authorities say Minerd was initially clocked at 96-miles-per-hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.

Before being pulled over, he reached speeds of up to 111-miles-per-hour.

Minerd is charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding.
