Two people are hospitalized after authorities say the driver fell asleep and the pick-up went airborne before crashing.
The Osceloa County Sheriff's Department says it happened Wednesday around 11:30 p.m. near Sibley, Iowa. They say 60-year-old Patrick DeRocher was driving on Highway Nine when he crossed the centerline, went into the ditch, went airborne for about 25 yards before hitting a creek embankment.
DeRocher and his passenger were taken to a local hospital with what authorities say were non-life threatening injuries.
