WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTIV) -
You would think that recent snows might have some impact on the latest Drought Monitor. But, maps released Thursday show that's not the case.
Most of northwestern Iowa is in extreme drought, with much of northeastern Nebraska and some of southeastern South Dakota in exceptional drought.
Some remain hopeful with what lies ahead this Spring. "Looking at some of the areas of the state, we've been dry I guess the last six months or so. So, there's a little hesitation out there on that, but I think we get some moisture in the Spring, I think prospects are very good," said Dan Hegg, Territory Sales Manager for Case IH.
The next Drought Monitor will be released Thursday, January 17th.
