Aaron White led a balanced attack with 17 points as Iowa snapped a 3-game Big Ten losing streak with a 70-50 victory over Northwestern on Sunday afternoon.
Josh Oglesby had 14 points, and Melsahn Basabe added 10 for the Hawkeyes (12-5, 1-3).
Dave Sobolewski had 14 points, and Tre Demps added 10 for the Wildcats (10-7, 1-3) in front of 6,805 fans at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Iowa opened a 25-15 lead by halftime behind Roy Devyn Marble's eight points and steadily increased its lead through the second half.
The Wildcats travel to Illinois on Thursday and host Indiana next Sunday. Iowa entertains Wisconsin on Saturday, then hits the road for games at Ohio State and Penn State.
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Derrick Nix made two free throws with a minute left and finished with 17 points to help No. 22 Michigan State pull away for a 66-56 victory over Nebraska on Sunday night.
The Spartans (14-3, 3-1 Big Ten) have won three straight and kept the Cornhuskers (9-8, 0-4) from winning their first conference game this season.
Nebraska's David Rivers had 18 points, Dylan Talley scored 17 and Ray Gallegos added 12 points.
Spartans reserve Adreian Payne scored 14 points and Branden Dawson had 12 points.
Michigan State -- and Dawson in particular -- got a scare early in the second half when he was fouled and grabbed his surgically repaired left knee after tumbling to the court. Dawson later walked slowly off the court toward the locker room and was cleared to return much to the delight of the fans, who gave him a standing ovation. The sophomore standout showed his knee was very healthy in the final seconds, soaring to slam an alley-oop pass from Keith Appling for the final basket.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Alex Bentley scored 19 points and led a swift backcourt trio that created havoc all over the floor to help No. 8 Penn State beat Nebraska 80-58 on Sunday.
Guard Maggie Lucas had 19 points on 5-of-16 shooting, while Ariel Edwards added 15 of the bench for the Lady Lions (13-2, 3-0), who won their seventh straight.
Emily Cady scored 17 to lead the Huskers (12-5, 2-2), who shot just 31 from the field.
After a choppy start, Penn State pulled away with a 14-4 run over the final 3 minutes of the first half.
Bentley hit a 3 to start the run before finishing it with a heave from just beyond the halfcourt line for an improbable 3 just before the buzzer and a 40-27 lead.
Penn State didn't let up from there and lead by as much as 26 in the second half against cold-shooting Nebraska.
