Georges Niang ranks third on the Cyclones averaging 11.5 points per game.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Freshman forward Georges Niang has been named the Big 12's Rookie of the Week after averaging 15.5 points per game and helping the Cyclones split their first two games of conference action.
Niang scored 13 points in ISU's overtime to loss to Kansas, and followed that up with a career high 18 points in Iowa State's 82-62 victory over Texas.

For the third time this season, former Sioux City North standout and current Northern Iowa star Jacqui Kalin has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's Player of the Week.
Kalin scored 25 points in the Panthers victory over Missouri State and made a career-high six three-pointers in the win.
She dropped 22 in a loss to Wichita State, but recorded a season high four steals.
The senior is averaging more than 18 points per game this season.
