The Black Raiders of Sioux City East remained perfect, improving to 11-0 after wins over Council Bluff Abraham Lincoln and Sioux City North this past week.

The CBAL victory was a blowout, 78-33.

The North game came down to the wire, and with about second left on the clock, East's Marcel Dunson dropped in the game winner, lifting the Black Raiders to a 58-56 victory.

Through 11 games, rebounding and defense have been the identity of the team.

East has won the battle on the glass in 10 of its 11 games and forced 151 turnovers and no opponent has scored more than 56 points against the Black Raiders this season.

"Defensively, this team may be one of the best we've had in a long time. Defensively and rebounding wise, they're tough kids," Head Coach Ras Vanderloo said. "All five of our starters are starters on the football team and so it's something that we build on the toughness and build on defense and things have worked out real well."
