YANKTON, S.D. (KTIV) -
It's shaping up to be a busy week in Washington, D.C. Senate confirmation hearings will begin on cabinet nominations by President Barack Obama.
One of those former U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska as Defense Secretary.
Democrats and republicans say they're still troubled by Hagel's views on Iran and Israel. Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota is one of them. The democrat says the President deserves the right to choose who he wants, but Johnson says he won't commit to anyone, including Hagel.
"So far I have seen not one of the President's picks that fills the grid," U.S. Senator Tim Johnson, (D) South Dakota said.
Johnson went on to say he is surprised by the republican opposition Hagel is getting, but expects him to be confirmed.
