Pedestrian hit and killed in Estherville, Iowa accident

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa (KTIV) -

Estherville, Iowa police say a 73-year-old woman is dead after she was struck while crossing a highway.  Authorities say Judith Anderson of Estherville was walking across Highway 9 just after 10:00 Monday morning when she was hit by a van owned by West Bend International Corporation.  The driver, 60-year-old, Dean Lundgren of Estherville, was on Highway 4 making a turn on to Highway 9 and did not see Anderson.

Anderson was transported to a Sioux Falls, South Dakota hospital where she later died.  Estherville police say no charges have been filed and the investigation is closed.
