MISSOURI VALLEY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Funerals will take place this week for a newlywed couple who was shot and their home set on fire.  25-year old Victoria Lee Vargas and her husband 30-year old Alex Vargas died December 8th in a mobile home near Ewing, Nebraska.  They had been married about six weeks.

33-year old Matthew Hinrichsen is charged with their murders, and will be back in court later this month.  Court documents say Victoria was Hinrichsen's ex-girlfriend.

Family members say a funeral mass will be held at 6:30 Wednesday night at Saint Peter Church in Omaha, Nebraska.  There will also be a funeral at one Saturday afternoon in Victoria's hometown of Missouri Valley, Iowa.  It'll be held at Christian Church located at 119 North 4th Street.
