UPDATE: Police say victim has died in Sioux City pedestrian accident

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Sioux City police say an elderly woman has died from injuries she received when she was hit by a car while crossing a street Tuesday night.

It happened about 6:00 PM near the intersection of South Lakeport and Southern Hills Drive.

Police say 80-year-old Grace Hutchinson from Winnipeg, Manitoba was crossing Lakeport when 23-year old David Milos of Sioux City hit her.

Police say alcohol and speed are not factors in the accident, but they are looking into whether Milos was distracted by an electronic device. The case is still under investigation.

Hutchinson was not crossing at a crosswalk.
