Fire damages Cutty's Resort condo in Spirit Lake, Iowa

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa (KTIV/KUOO) -

Spirit Lake, Iowa fire officials say a condo at Cutty's Resort was damaged when an electrical fire broke out Thursday morning. Fire Chief David Kollasch says firefighters encountered heavy smoke when they arrived around 9:30am at the two-story condominium-type unit just south of the resort's main building. No one was in the building at the time, and Kollasch says the flames were quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported. Two rooms in the building sustained extensive heat and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshall.
