There's plenty of ice this year for ice fishermen looking to resume their favorite winter activity. There's plenty of ice this year for ice fishermen looking to resume their favorite winter activity.
MILFORD, Iowa (KTIV) -

The cold weather's return may not make everyone happy. But if you're an ice fisherman you're probably doing a dance.  That's because these frigid temps mean it's safe to go back out on the lake.

Emerson Bay in Milford, Iowa, has been a hot spot throughout the month, with fishermen who haul their gear out onto the ice. With abundant ice shacks and ATVs, these outdoorsmen know the drill well, especially now that the lake is actually frozen.

"The last couple of years we really haven't had good ice at all. That's why I made the track up here with my brother, Larry," said Gerald Lewis of Le Mars, Iowa.

Some of the fishermen say they can spend hours enjoying the outdoors. They just wish the fish would cooperate a little bit more.
