Lisa Bluder is the 42nd member of the 600 win club.
Iowa City, IA (KTIV) -
Iowa women's basketball head coach Lisa Bluder won her 600th career game on Sunday, as the Hawkeyes upset 11th ranked Purdue 62-46.
Bluder is now the 42nd coach in college basketball to reach the 600 win plateau.
In her 13 years at Iowa she has won 244 games, second only to Hall of Famer C. Vivian Stringer, who won 269 during her tenure with the Hawkeyes.
"Anytime you reach one of these milestones, yes, it means you've been around a long time, but it also gives you an opportunity to reflect on the women you've been able to coach," Head Coach Lisa Bluder said.
"It's truly a blessing to play for coach Bluder," Jaime Printy said. "She's obviously one of the best around and her numbers show it. But on and off the court it's truly a blessing to play for her. I'm really proud of her and how successful she's been. I'm just happy to be a Hawk."
Bluder will go for win No. 601 Thursday against Wisconsin.
