CASCADE (KWWL) -
Updated Jan. 25, 4 p.m.:
Authorities tell KWWL they have located Dustin Wilson. We will have more information as it becomes available.
Authorities continue their search for 34-year-old Dustin Wilson. The Jones County Sheriff says Wilson knew the 28-year-old female passenger in a stolen vehicle earlier this week, but the connection between the two is not clear.
The assault investigation is still ongoing, and physical evidence has been submitted to the state crime lab. The Jones County sheriff says there still are not any criminal charges filed, but investigators have been in constant contact with the Jones County attorney.
Authorities say Wilson is a risk to public safety. If you see him call 911 or call local authorities. Do not try to intervene yourself.
Cascade police say the second vehicle stolen in an incident that began on Monday night has been found, but the suspect is still on the loose.
Cascade Police Chief Fredrick Heim says one of his officers spotted a pick-up truck, reported stolen out of Delaware County, at around 6:00 p.m. Monday in Cascade.
Heim says that while the officer was waiting for other law enforcement to arrive, the driver pulled into the driveway of a home in the 200 block of Harrison Street SE and ran.
The suspected driver, 34-year-old Dustin Wilson was not located.
A 28-year-old woman was in the truck. She was questioned by police and then taken to a local hospital. Police believe she was a victim in the incident.
Heim says on Tuesday, his office received a report of a stolen SUV in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue SE. The victim says the vehicle was taken from the garage overnight.
Heim believes Wilson took the dark gray 2005 Chevy Trailblazer with Iowa license plate 206-XXC.
That vehicle was found at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Delaware County.
Wilson is described as a 34-year-old white male, between 5'11" and 6' tall, weighing between 160 and 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
If you have information regarding Dustin Wilson, you are asked to contact the Dubuque County Dispatch Center at 800-262-6013, the Cascade Police Department at 563-852-3100 or the Jones County Sheriff's Office at 319-462-4371.
