SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Sioux City City Council meets Wednesday to review the capital improvements budget for the next five years.
The spending plan covers funding requests from city departments for repairs, purchases or construction. The proposals totall nearly ?$272-million. That's $30-million more than the previous five-year plan, but about $25-million of it would be tax increment financing dollars earmarked for a new downtown casino.
The council finished its first read-through of the 540-page plan last week. A final vote is scheduled for February 25th.
