Executive Director Harold Youtzy says he has 68 beds for people.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The population of Sioux City's Gospel Mission, which shelters men, women and children, is up 10-to-15 percent.
Executive Director Harold Youtzy says he has 68 beds for people.
61 of them are occupied because of the cold weather.
He says the mission can take even more, but you have to sleep on the floor if they go over 68.
"We have no length of stay limitation in terms of when they come. So we simply ask them to abide by the rules and as long as they do that, they are welcome to stay here," Harold Youtzy, Jr., Pastor/Executive Director of the Gospel Mission said.
The Gospel Mission's rules include passing a breathalyzer test, attending the nightly Gospel Service, and doing a small task they assign you.
Youtzy also says in their dining hall, they provide an average of 369 meals a day to the people that stay at the mission and outside individuals.
