SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A Sioux City man accused of robbing a local bank at gunpoint has pleaded not guilty to federal charges.

26-year-old Johnnie Hawkins, Junior, entered his plea in U.S. District Court, in Sioux City, on Tuesday.

Investigators say Hawkins, Junior, threatened an employee with a handgun as she opened the Heritage Bank branch on Singing Hills Boulevard back in November.

Police say Hawkins got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, but was arrested later in the day in Sergeant Bluff.
