LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV) -
Nebraska farmers are being advised to plan for another growing season of drought. State climatologist Al Dutcher estimates Nebraska has a 70 percent chance of a second consecutive year of drought.
Dutcher told a gathering of Nebraska beef producers this week that 8 to 10 inches of moisture more than normal would be needed to break the state's drought. He advises everyone to have a good drought plan in place.
The University of Nebraska's Drought Mitigation Center says most of the state remains in extreme or exceptional drought.
