There were some concerns over a drugstore development for Sioux City, but the third time may be the charm for a new Walgreens on Hamilton Boulevard.
The 15,000 square foot store is planned for the corner of 19th and Hamilton.
The project received first-round approval from the Sioux City City Council Monday night.
The developer has addressed most of the neighbors concerns, but there's still one outstanding issue that residents would like to see resolved.
The current design calls for two curb cuts to enter and exit the parking lot; one on Hamilton and one on West 19th. Neighbors say it's a disaster waiting to happen.
"With the traffic backing up, and with vehicles trying to get in and out of Walgreens on West 19th Street," said resident Tim Bottaro.
Drivers would be able to turn left or right, and that's got council members concerned as well.
They've asked that traffic only be allowed to turn right to keep the current flow on Hamilton Boulevard.
