SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa (KTIV) -

A supervisor at Stream Global Services received recognition for her support of the military and her employees that serve in the armed forces.

Megan Thornburg was honored with the Patriotic Employer award at a surprise event in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa on Wednesday.

Representatives of ESGR, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program, an agency under the Department of Defense, presented her with the award.

Co-worker Philip Lyon nominated Thornburg because he said she accommodates his military duties.

"Well, it's still a surprise. I'm still kind of absorbing it. To me it just means that I go above and beyond for my employees, which is important to me," said Megan Thornburg, Patriot Award recipient.

"She just has everything planned out and I felt like I should show my appreciation for that," said Philip Lyons, Stream employee.

Today's award came as a surprise to both of them.
