AGP shuts down Hastings, NE plant for extended time
Officials at Ag Processing, Inc. say they are shutting down operations at the company's corn processing plant in Hastings, Nebraska effective February 1st, impacting 43 workers. There's no word if or when work would begin again.
AGP blames ongoing economic conditions in the ethanol industry for the extended shutdown. Officials say the move will not impact the soybean processing, vegetable oil, and AminoPlus production facilities in Hastings.
AGP says it will continue to evaluate market conditions. In the meantime, the company is working with employees affected by the shutdown.
