SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The health of your teeth is important. That's why several Siouxland dentists took part in the "Give Kids a Smile" program.
They're providing free dental care for children and teens in need. Research shows one in every four kids, under age eleven, have untreated dental disease.
The programs includes cleanings, exams, and x-rays. "Say you have a small filling that needs to be done and the filling is maybe like a 100-dollars, you can do this filling for maybe like a 100-dollars. Or if you let it wait, and it's gets into the nerve tissue then maybe you're looking at doing a 200-dollar crown, stainless steel crown, plus nerve treatment," Dr. Mindy Stevens said.
Dr. Stevens says the program continues to grow. She says they had 45 kids take part on Friday.
